His best album

Every time Chris comes out with a new album, I get worried. He’s been my favorite artist for a few years now and I’m always worried about “what if he makes something I don’t like?” or “what if he makes something that doesn’t resonate with me anymore?” Thankfully this has yet to happen! I’ve been with him through at least two album releases to date and truthfully they just keep getting better! I’m here for it.

Beyond just the music, which itself I’m a fan of, what really draws me in is the lyrics. What I love most about them is that they’re real and actually creative! The majority of Christian music I’ve heard on the radio is soo cliche. They’re all different versions of the same song! All the lyrics are basically the same across the board and they all use the exact same metaphors, which is understandable cause they’re all reading the same book, but like, say something different! Now, allow me to be fair, there is a time and place in the world for this kind of music, I get it, but for me, I’m at a place in my walk where I want more lyrical substance than what contemporary christian music (CCM) allows for, and Chris’ music does that for me. He tells the same familiar story but in a way that’s new and resonates with me.

Music is very personal and of course we have different tastes in different seasons but music is the kind of thing you literally can’t express to someone; you have to experience it… so let’s share this experience.
